Vintage Estacien "Etta" Benjamin Painting in Original Frame

A vintage Estacien ‘Etta’ Benjamin painting in original gold-toned wooden frame. Estacien J. Benjamin (1924-2009) was a mid-century abstract artist active in Los Angeles circa 1950-1969. She opened the Hillside House of Originals framing store and art gallery with her husband and produced her own work wholesale. This piece, oil on canvas, evokes a flock seagulls swooping low over dark water. The painting is characteristically signed in the bottom left corner with an abbreviation of Benjamin’s name, ‘E. Cien’. The back of the frame is numbered ‘428/8 J 3/4’.

Condition

Some wear on the corners of the frame and a small nick along the side of the frame.
