A Butler lighted floor Terrestrial globe. Made by the George F. Cram Company, Indianapolis, IND. Housed/resting in a wood frame/stand with open turned supports to side and casters to bottom.

An impressive piece depicting the oceans in yellow. The globe is made up of twelve chromolithographed paper gores laid over a lighted translucent sphere, in approx scale 500 Miles per inch.

The countries colored and outlined, showing Israel, Egypt as the United Arab Republic, the North Pole labelled ‘REACHED NORTH POLE Peary-1909-Sledge Byrd-1926’, the oceans show shipping routes in red with mile indicated, current flow in white and an Analemma with Sun’s Declination. To polar axes a printed metal hour disc graduated 1-12 twice. Surmounted within a cast metal calibrated meridian.

The paper gores have small nicks and what appears to be a spot of water damage with discolor.

Overall good, see description for further details. The wood stand has areas of varnish loss. Tested and lights up.
