Late 19th Century Packard Pump Organ

A late 19th century Packard parlor reed organ manufactured by the Fort Wayne Organ Company. According to the seller, this organ dates to 1898. The Fort Wayne Organ Co. began manufacturing in 1871 and officially changed their company name to Packard in 1899. The company was renowned for their instruments’ intricate design and beautiful sound. They produced until 1930; they no longer could sustain business during the Great Depression. This gorgeous reed organ has a walnut body and displays intricate Eastlake cabinetry. Ornate carvings throughout displaying a floral motif. Features eleven pull stops including bass coupler, diapason forte, dulcet bass, viola, diapason, vox humana, melodia, celeste, dulcet treble, celestina and treble coupler. Keys are intact and constructed of celluloid. This piece has been refurbished and currently plays with working pump pedals and knee levers. Top removes for easier transport. Comes complete with an antique stool by the Chas Parker Company (Meriden, CT, 1877-early 1900s). Stool is finished with red velvet.

Condition
Wear consistent with age and use. Two finials have come loose and should be re-connected. Two keys on right hand side are slightly damaged but still functional. Organ needs a puller. For best assessment, please utilize preview.
