Antique Straight-Back Chair
Item Details
An elegant antique chair, likely a living room chair but possibly a dining chair. Features an ornately carved crest rail incorporating incised lines in geometric patterns, openwork designs, and carved scalloped and scrolled motifs. There are not full armrests, but rather diagonal braces connecting the back and seat, adorned with incised lines. The front legs are round and lathe-turned, and end in casters, while the rear legs are gently curved and square in cross-section. The seat and back are upholstered in pastel green fabric bordered by a wavy beige embroidered border. The hardwood frame has a dark finish.
Condition
- minor nicks and scratches, border pulling away from fabric in a few places.
