Antique Ruud Automatic Water Heater

Item Details

An amazing cast iron Ruud Automatic Water Heater, with a patent date of 1904, which is when Edwin Ruud won a Gold Medal at the St. Louis World’s Fair for his tankless water heater. This is a Type F ‘thermal valve’ model, size 6, 290,000 btu per hour, recovery capacity 6.76 gallons per minute, with a working pressure of 127 lbs and a test pressure of 300 lbs. (Several patent dates are noted on a label on the heater. The last legible date is May 31, 1904, but there are three more after that which have been scratched out. This water heater dates from c. 1904 – c. 1915 most likely.) Winning bidder please bring adequate help for removal from premises as this piece is extremely heavy.
