Antique Cast Iron Cream Separator

Item Details

An unusual cast iron cream separator, made by the Creamery Package Manufacturing Company in Chicago. The device works along the same lines as a centrifuge. When cranked by hand, the internal mechanism spins and small cups holding the whole milk whirl around until the skim milk is squeezed out a hole in the bottom and the cream remains in the cup. The machine has casters attached to the bottom.
