Lovely antique artist-signed Japanese Katabori style pre-ban ivory turtle netsuke with mother turtle and pair of baby turtles atop her back, carved in a definitive manner with incised and darkened shell patterning. An unusual feature are two opening to the base of the shell which reveal artist’s marks within.
