A set for ten, Russel Wright’s ‘American Modern’ ceramic dinnerware, manufactured by Steubenville Pottery Company. With his signature lifestyle products, American industrial designer Wright, brought distinctive modern design to the public. This colorful chartreuse dinnerware set (circa 1939-1950) includes twelve dinner plates (10’ dia.), eleven butter plates (6’ dia.), ten salad bowls with handles, twelve saucers (5.75’ dia.) and eleven cups. Serveware includes a cream and sugar, a salad spoon and fork, a gravy boat and oval plate, a large platter (13.5′ × 8.75′), a salad bowl with curled edges (11′ × 7.5′), a small bowl with curled edges (10′ × 7′), a pitcher, and a set of salt and pepper shakers.
Condition
Pitcher has been repaired along spout. Small chips on two butter plates. One large chip on saucer and one small chip on separate saucer.
