An original oil painting on canvas by well listed artist Caroline C. Burnett who painted during the late part of the 19th century and the early part of the 20th. She was an American in Paris, painting French street scenes as a member of the Societe des Beaux-Arts. Her paintings reflect the style being pioneered by her contemporaries in Paris with her Impressionistic brush strokes and figural abstraction. In this particular painting Burnett illustrates a Parisian street scene during the springtime months, people stroll up and down the avenue, enjoying the springtime blooms and lovely building bathed in sunlight that surround them. Signed to the bottom left corner and presented in a simple wooden beveled frame.
