Antique Eastlake Platform Rocking Chair

Item Details

An elegant carved and upholstered platform rocking chair in the late Victorian Eastlake style. Made of carved walnut and decorated with incised geometric and botanical designs, this rocker is upholstered in beautiful burgundy fabric with a scalloped pattern. It rocks on a built-in platform which, in turn, sits on casters (see images for detail).

Condition

Some superficial damage to the wood, mostly on the bottom platform, namely nicks and scratches and a gouged corner on the right front foot.
