A modern Chinese wheat straw artwork made of applied cut and bleached straw to a black canvas, a Folk Art process that originated in the Sui and Tang eras. This collection of three each portrays a bird and includes a crane with dyed black and red accents, a bird in flight with bamboo and a bird perched to a flowering branch. Each is presented under glass with cream mat in gold frame. Information about wheat straw pictures is applied to the verso of each.

Condition

- the top border of the bird in flight picture and perched bird picture are loose, nicks to the frames consistent with age.
