"Pioneer Wheels of Progress" Howard Fain Signed Lithograph

A signed lithograph by Howard Fain titled ‘Pioneer Wheels of Progress.’ This piece depicts a toll gate house and dirt road in Lexington, Kentucky, where an ice delivery wagon pulled by a horse passes through. This piece is titled at the bottom and has a printed signature and date (1972), beneath which the artist has signed his name in pencil with the note ‘Best wishes to the Harrisons 11/8/75.’ The piece is matted in white and brown with a rustic wood frame with carved foliage designs. The back is fitted with a wire fixture for wall hanging. Also on the back is an attached newspaper clipping from 1993 with a photo of the old toll gate house, where it was once located on Harrodsburg Road.
