Japanese Tansu Chest

A Japanese Tansu chest. This antique Japanese chest of drawers is designed with two stacking pieces of hardwood with black iron detail. The top features a two door blind cabinet with two storage drawers with iron handles. The bottom section is designed with two drawers and a small cabinet. The wood has a lovely unfinished light cherry color and the contrasting black iron looks decorative but is actually designed to give the cabinet an impenetrable appearance. This is an authentic Japanese piece imported from Japan by the owner.

Condition

Wear consistent with age with desirable amount of distress. Top door stays slightly open. The top has old water rings, scratches and nicks.
