1930s "Gulistan" Persian Style Wool Rug by Karagheusian Inc.

Item Details

A vintage all wool ‘Gulistan’ Persian style rug, circa 1930, made by the A&M Karagheusian Company in New York. The company introduced the Gulistan DeLuxe rug collection in 1924, ‘Gulistan’ being the title of a 13th century Persian poem meaning garden of roses in Persian. By 1928 the company became nationally known for this flagship product – ‘the Gulistan carpet’. This rug enjoys an all-over stylized floral and foliate pattern on a vibrant red field with a navy border and fringed ends.

Condition

, the rug is in very good condition considering it’s age. It shows very little wear but is considered to be in good condition due to the fact that it will benefit from being cleaned.
