WWI Era German Regimental Beer Stein

A WWI era German regimental beer stein, given to commemorate a member’s service in a societal protection institution in Germany. This mug features gold accenting and a transferware insignia of a red crowned griffin with a shield on its chest, below its feet is a target and is surrounded by oak branch garlands. Below the insignia there is script that reads ‘Priv. Schuzengesellschaft St. Georgen-gegr 1720’. This vessel is topped with a pewter flip-top lid that is inscribed ‘1906-1934 S.P. Meyer Fur 25 jahrtreue Mitgliedschaft.’ This item is marked on the underside by its manufacturer ‘Walkure Bayreuth’ porcelain from Bavaria.
