A fascinating work by Mexican ceramicist Alexander Flores. Done in his ‘Tonalcubi Collection’ style, it represents a Surrealistic sort of fractured Cubist reality, with bright colors adding depth in this example to a face in which an eye, nose, and mouth are the only familiar elements in a fantastical ceramic rendition of the human visage. This is a heavy, three-dimensional piece with a solid metal hanger on the back. Signed to lower right corner, numbered 15/500, copyright 1998.

Condition

The paint has worn off the edges in a couple of spots.
