Rebecca Manns was born in Xenia, Ohio and is known for her abstract sky, animals and landscape paintings. She is a self taught oil artist and holds a commercial arts degree from Sinclair College Dayton, Ohio. Her work is privately collected throughout the United States and abroad.
“I find the skies an inspirational poem of extremes – the agony and the ecstasy, the haunting and the divine. Every hour leading to a different mood and in many ways very human like. It is this sensation that allows my pieces to feel ineffably familiar, but totally unique.
Opposed to mimicking what I see, I try to simplify the feeling of the air and light with fast strokes. My color palette is varied and paint is applied with brushes, my fingers and palette knives.’
