An antique Springfield Rifle model 1873, also known as the ‘Trapdoor’ Springfield, was the first ‘breech-loading’ rifle used by the United States Army as a standard issue weapon. This gun was produced in both a carbine version and a long barrel version, and both of which were widely used in battles of the era. This cavalry carbine model has a 22’ barrel and is .45 caliber. Unfortunately part of this items hammer has broken off and has rusting throughout its existing metal parts.
- At the time of cataloging, EBTH was able to determine that this item was inoperable, it is being sold “as-is.” Refunds based on the working condition of the item will not be issued.
