Rare Mission Oak Vintage Tea Cart with Leather Covered Wheels

Item Details

A very rare mission quarter oak tea cart with smaller wood swivel wheels at one end and large carved wagon style wheels at the other. All four wheels have black leather over the wood rims. There are two shelves. The handle is also oak. The swivel wood wheels are 5’ tall with the hubs and swivels made from matching solid oak. The hubs and spokes on the large wagon wheels on the front are also solid matching oak. They are 16.25’ in diameter. Tea carts were popular during the Art & Crafts movement as they were actually used to serve any type of food. When houses became smaller in the 1900s ‘tea carts’ were indispensable when dishes needed to go from pantry to dining room. A superb addition for that Arts and Crafts collector.
