‘David was born in Springfield, Illinois. His academic training was with Wright State University, The American Academy of Art, and The Chicago Academy of Fine Art.
David’s roots are firmly planted in illustration and he paints in a variety of mediums from watercolor, gouache, acrylics and oils, to full tonal pencil, and pen & ink. Although an accomplished gallery artist, his range of work and experiences also take him into various other markets including advertising, book publishing, editorial, institutional, entertainment and graphic design. His personal artistic explorations often lead him into European, American and Oriental painting, as well as folk and modern art, sculpture, architecture, and contemporary illustration.
David’s great strength as a conceptual artist, as well as his masterful technical skills, has developed a style quite unlike any other in the field of illustration. The underlying narrative themes and understanding of nature are evident in his work and have won acceptance with many Fortune 500 companies and high profile periodicals. David has accrued countless awards and recognition from regional and national competitions, and his original artwork hangs in many notable private collections. He continues to produce freshly original and refined paintings
Passionate about art education, David teaches the techniques he uses at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. He has always been generous in giving back to young artists in workshops and lectures with other institutions including The Syracuse University Satellite Program, The Dallas Community College, The College of Medical Illustration, The Cleveland Art Institute, and The Cincinnati Art Institute.’
