A collection of vintage Fielding’s Devon Ware ‘British Scenes’ dishware. This pattern features varied colorful British countryside scenes to the centers and embossed swirl and botanical pattern to the border with orange edge accents. The pieces includes ten dinner plates featuring ‘Ludington Warwickshire’, ten salad plates featuring ‘Ye Olde Bell Inn Hurley’, eight bread plates featuring ‘Stratford Warwick’, three cups featuring a botanical scene, six saucers featuring ‘Bray Village Berkshire’, two saucers featuring ‘Prestbury Cheshire’, eight handled soup bowls featuring ‘Ann Hathaway’s Cottage Stratford on Avon’, eight saucer under plates featuring ‘Bray Village Berkshire’, a vegetable bowl featuring ‘Cockington Village Devonshire’ and a platter featuring ‘Ludington Wadwickshire’. All are marked to the underside.
Condition
- fair. All have a degree of staining, cups and soup bowls and some dinner plates with heavier staining, some pieces with heavy crazing. One dinner plate has a small chip to the underside edge, one salad plate has a small chip, one salad plate has a hairline crack, the platter has a hairline crack and wear to the glaze at the edge, two cups have chips, one soup bowl has a repaired handle.
Dimensions
The dinner plates are 10"W, the salad plates are 8"W, the bread plates are 6.5"W, the vegetable bowl is 2.25"H x 8.75"W, the platter is 1.5"H x 14"W x 11.5"D.
