Original Serigraph by Jon Carsman
Item Details
An absolutely incredible, limited edition, original serigraph by well listed Pennsylvanian artist Jon Carsman (1944 – 1987). His work appears in the permanent collections of both the Hirshhorn and the MET. Carsman has shown all over the world, showing in both one-man and group exhibitions. The is print is titled “Winter Shadows,” and is pencil signed to the bottom right-hand corner, and serialized in a limited edition at the bottom left, 48 of 125. This image is extremely exemplary of Carsman’s oeuvre which consists exclusively of house portraits. Carsman found his inspiration came from the play of color and light reflected throughout outdoor environments. Carsman most often painted his subjects, beautiful Midwestern and East Coast homes, but this departure into printmaking serves his subjects quite nicely, providing a mid-century lens through which the artist has explained something rather quaint. Printed in 1975.

- good, some wear to print in the form of flaking ink. Dent to lower right corner.
