Known for his Pop-Surrealist work, artist Richard Marquart is based in Sarasota, Florida where he also works in the construction business. He double-majored Sculpture and Painting, completing his first two years at the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota and his second two years at the Pacific Northwest College of Arts in Portland, Oregon. Marquart’s compositions often feature hybrid and fragmented figures, often executed with surfaces that appear textural and cosmic, recalling the work of Surrealist collage artists.
