Rollin Karg is known for his sculptural glass and metal work and particularly for his use of dichroic colors. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Karg grew up in Florida before attending college to study business and engineering at Wichita State in Kansas. While working he tried a number of hobbies including photography, pottery, and woodworking, but at age 38 he discovered glassblowing and found his passion. He studied with Richard Stauffer at Emporia State University. In 1983, Rollin Karg opened Karg Art Glass studio in Keichi, Kansas, and began work as a full-time artist. This studio is now a showplace for dozens of artists and Karg has won several awards for his work. His pieces can be found in numerous public and private collections
