French Post Impressionist painter, William Malherbe, became an artist after WWI. His oeuvre contained vibrant still lives, outdoor scenes, and nudes painted on wood rather than canvas. Malherbe would wait to varnish his work for at least ten years, thinking that the paint needed that long to completely dry. Works by William Malherbe are in the Musee d’Art Moderne in Paris as well as other collections.
