An original watercolor on paper painting by well listed artist Itzchak (Isaac) Tarkay (1935 – 2012). This painting features imagery typical of the artist’s oeuvre. Rendered in fauvist sensibilities a nonchalant group of relaxed French women sit around their tea, lounging, talking, and enjoying each other’s company. In the background, through the window, can be seen the quaint countryside. A small row of farmhouses are depicted with big gardens and yards, the way it should be. The painting is signed by the artist to the lower right and is presented in an extremely elaborate gilt wood frame with lots of embellishment in low relief. The painting is also fitted with a clothe wrapped mat to edge terminating in a gold bevel.
