- shows signs under UV light and to the verso of patched tears, inpainting repairs, and relining of canvas; color variation, gold discoloration, and flaked loss to paint and varnish towards each side of the painting, likely from weathering and contact wear from previous presentation within frame; craquelure, scuffs, accretions, and flecks of discoloration scattered to paint and varnish throughout; tears, fraying, and other handling wear to canvas along the edges and sides of the stretcher bars; exposed metal nailpoints at the lower left and lower right sides of painting, likely from previous framing.
