Rare 1735 German Bible, Old and New Testament in Embossed Leather

A rare 1735 German Bible ‘Biblia Das ist Die Ganze Heil. Schrifft Alten und Neuen Testaments, Deutsch, D. Martin Luthers…’ in text on the title page. Published by Daniel Bartholomdi und Sohn, 1735. The woodcut illustration on the frontispiece is printed at the bottom ‘Andr. Fridrich’. The Bible is bound in full leather with the initials I. D.B. on the front with the date 1736 and the gilt page edges are embossed at the head and tail of the spine. The inside fly page has faint handwritten notations that appear to be genealogy information with dates ranging from 1756 through 1870.

Condition

, with some rub wear at the head and tail of the spine and the edges. Corners are bumped and the interior hinge is split after the end-paper page. The binding remains tight and there are remarkable no loose pages.
