An original oil portrait painting of Mary Emery by artist Edward Firn Edward Firn (1909–1966). This beautiful piece features a portrait of Cincinnati philanthropist and well known benefactor for funding the planned community of Mariemont, OH, Mary Emery (1866-1927). The artist completed this piece in 1938 using a photograph he had found of Mary Emery taken approximately in the early 1900s. The painting is set in a embellished gold tone frame with an engraved plaque on the front that reads ‘Mary Emery Founder of Mariemont’ The painting is signed and dated by the artist on the bottom left-hand corner of the piece.

Condition
Painting and frame overall in good condition with minimal areas of surface ware. The canvas is not mounted well in the frame and could benefit from being remounted.
