Cincinnati Art Museum Poster for Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec Exhibit, 1969

Item Details

Noel Martin studied drawing, painting and printmaking at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, where he returned later in his career to become an instructor. He completed his education after a stint in the Air Force working in camouflage during World War II. He went on to work as a freelance graphic designer and art director, whose clients included the Cincinnati Art Museum and Federated Department Stores. His work was included in important exhibitions across North America, including the 1953 show Four American Designers at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, and a one-man exhibition at the American Institute of Graphic Arts in 1958.
