Vintage Masonic Knights Templar Military Uniform with Sash and Sword Belt

Item Details

A vintage Masonic Knights Templar Military Uniform coat jacket, sash and sword belt. The jacket appears to be made of black wool and is a long style. There are eleven bound buttonholes down the front, and the buttons are silk-covered to match. There are three silk-covered dome buttons on each wrist, along with a red velvet cross surrounded by metallic embroidery, the stand-up collar has ‘N.O. 11’ on it along with two embroidered red and metallic crosses. The tail split is pleated and there are two silk-covered dome buttons on each side. The jacket is lined and in very good condition, the only visible wear is on the buttons. Pinned to one breast is a metal and enamel medal with black grosgrain ribbon, federal eagle and ‘E Pluribus Unum’ (‘Out Of Many, One’) and marked to back with the manufacturer’s name (Henderson Ames). Marked on the manufacturer’s label inside the nape is ‘The Henderson Ames Company, Kalamazoo, Mich., Military and Society Goods.’
Chest measurement from seam-to-seam: 42’; Length: 38’; Sleeves from shoulder seam: 26.’ The reversible sash is green faille on one side with an applied satin red cross and silver snap; and black velvet and gold silk faille with embroidered border on the other. Two applied metal medallions, one with a red cross and one with a shield and cross. Both proclaim ‘In Hoc Signo Vinces’ (‘By This Sign, Thou Shalt Conquer’). The leather sword and utility belt has a silver etched buckle proclaiming ‘In Hoc Signo Vinces,’ an enameled red cross, and is marked to back with the Henderson Ames Company. There is metallic embroidery around the entire belt and on the three utility belts, which sport a clip at the end. Both waist belt and utility belts are adjustable. Age of this item is unknown, however, best guess is circa 1920s.

Condition

Mild wear on some buttons. Gold silk faille on sash has three small worn and ripped areas. The metallic embroidery on the belt is corroded in some areas.
