Award-winning artist Judy Pike was based in San Diego and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Art from Stanford University. After graduating, art remained an imperative part of her life as she experimented with a variety of mediums, such as clay, reiki pottery, watercolor, and oil. She eventually developed a specialty for mixed media figural compositions, many of which are rendered with paper fragments, watercolor, gouache, and stitched embellishments. When discussing her creative process, she explained that her subjects and people in general are complex and have multiple personas, which she captured by adding multiple layers to her compositions.

Throughout her career, Pike remained deeply involved in contemporary art communities and organizations. In 2006 she co-founded the Figurative Inspiration Group (FIG), an organization that fostered unique collaborations between artists and models. She also partook in the West Coast Drawing Group and for several years curated shows at Adam’s Avenue Grille. Her work has been exhibited at several institutions including the San Diego Art Institute and Cuyamaca College, among others.
