Vintage Hubbel Electric Extension Outlet, Circa 1925
Item Details
A vintage Hubbel electric extension outlet from Hubbel Electronics, circa 1925. This early electrical ‘extension’ cord comes with eight 2-prong outlets molded from bakelite (a precursor to plastic), plus there are two lightbulb adapters that can be unscrewed from the base unit for adapting the two-prong plug to be used in a light socket. One of those adapters is marked Hubbell, 660w250v. The other adapter appears to be a replacement. There are also 2 fuses, the glass one is marked General Electric 30 and the green one is a Time Delay Fuse 30 amps, assembled in Mexico. There is an on/off switch in the body of the assembly. The ‘extension’ cord wraps around the body of the grooved base assembly for ease of storage.
