An original watercolor on paper painting by well listed Cincinnati Artist Helen C. Koch (1895 – ). This phenomenal watercolor painting is signed to the lower left by the artist. The end of the pier is piled with fallen posts, still half submerged in water. A boat sits lazily rocking in the wake, as a noontime summer heat sets in, languid, and unmoving. The facades of buildings line the horizon, like sentinels of early sprawl foretelling an undone future. The use of color in this piece is absolutely phenomenal, and reveals the artist’s incredible talent.
