U.S. Mint Navajo Code Talkers and Tuskegee Air Men Commemorative Bronze Medals. These medals commemorate two iconic stories of World War II with the one having a pair of Navajo talking into a radio to the obverse and The reverse bears the Navajo Marine Corps emblem with “USMC,” the U.S. Marine Corps eagle, globe and anchor emblem, and “WWII” centered along the top of the medal. Centered along the bottom is the inscription “Diné Bizaad Yee Atah Naayéé’ Yik’eh Deesdl íí,” which means “The Navajo Language Was Used to Defeat the Enemy.” The other a pilot, mechanic and officer of the Tuskegee Army Air unit facing left over a soaring eagle to the obverse and a P-40, P-51 and B-25 to the reverse. Metal Content: Bronze. Diameter: 37.8mm. Weight: 25.5 grams(each). Medals have little to no wear and are presented in velvet U.S. Mint boxes with cardboard sleeves with light wear.
