- minor dust to the surface of the painting; board of painting is too small for the rabbet and sight of the frame with at least one edge always exposed; holes and frame rub to the edges of the board; gaps to the joints of the frame; abrasions and finish loss particularly along the front edges of the frame; chips to the outer edges of the frame.
