Paul Sawyier “Paul’s Love” Framed Print

A collector offset lithographic print after an original Paul Sawyier painting is number 2219 of a limited edition of 3,000, issued in 1990 and certified by the Frankfort Blue Print Company of Frankfort, Kentucky. The company verifies in a card containing its corporate seal on the back of the print that all printing plates have been destroyed. Sawyier (1865-1917) is regarded as Kentucky’s best American impressionist artist. This print pictures Sawyier’s life-long love, “Mayme” (Mary Thomas Bull), seated in a canoe on tranquil Elkhorn Creek near Frankfort. It is part of the first print in a series published from originals titled, “The Mayme Bull Collection.” The print includes a triple matte French blue and chestnut inner mattes, and a larger cream outer matte in a gold finish wood frame.
