Chet La More was an avid sculpture, painter, printer, and educator known for abstract and modern styles. He studied at and held degrees from the University of Wisconsin and even owned a small studio in Madison, Wisconsin. La More eventually moved to Baltimore and then New York to make a greater living creating art. Around 1935 he started painting murals for the Treasury Relief Art Project, and after his service in WWII became a professor of art at Albright Art School in Buffalo and the University of Michigan. La More’s work has been exhibited at the prestigious Perl Gallery in New York, and his work is housed in permanent collections such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Carnegie Institute, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

- minor toning to paper; joints of frame slightly loose; minor abrasions to the finish of the frame.
