A stunning Capodimonte style vintage compote made by Ardalt Italy. This piece has an oval trefoil shape and boasts exquisite high relief detail. The lid boasts a center paneled putti scene with nude cherubs and angels celebrating amongst the mountain with the ocean in foreground, with a repeating floral and ribbon motif framed in gilt. The dish’s exterior mimics the lid’s nude cherub angel design and features a plain cream interior. The dish is marked, ‘Ardalt 4173 Italy’ to bottom.
