Bruce Erickson enrolled at Edinboro University in Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Art in drawing. He went on study at the Illustration Academy in Kansas City and completed a Masters of Fine Art in painting at Indiana University, Bloomington. Erickson taught at numerous universities including as a visiting professor at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He even worked recently as a scientific illustrator in Pylos, Greece for the Temple of Nestor excavations directed by Dr. Jack Davis and Dr. Shari Stocker. Currently, Erikson is an associate professor for drawing and painting at Xavier University, Ohio. His work has been exhibited at the Centre Culturel de l’Arsenal in Maubeuge, France; the Haggin Museum in Stockton, California; the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio; the Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum of Art in Montecito, California; the Dacia Gallery in New York City, and more. Erikson also won Best in Show in the Annual Greater Washington, D.C. International Fine Arts Competition and second place in painting in the State Museum of Pennsylvania Art of the State competition.
