Original William A. Eskey Dry Point Etching
Item Details
An original dry point etching by well listed and West Virginian born artist William A. Eskey (1891 – 1937). The artist fought in WWI and studied art in France following the war, completing his first dry point etching in a veteran’s hospital in 1928. This etching is exemplary of the artist’s love for the drypoint technique and dogs too. The artist has provided a nearly photographic rendering of a Scottish Terrier, the print aptly titled ‘Scotty’. The print is a beautiful example of the dry point technique, although perhaps over wiped. Presented in a simple black wooden frame.
