Born in Libya and raised in Florence, Italy, Fabrizio Gerbino is known for his conceptual, philosophical, and abstract art rendered in various mediums including acrylic, oil, wood, metal, and found objects. His father taught him how to paint when he was a young child, and he studied at the Istituto Statale D’Arte and the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. In 2003, Gerbino moved to Pittsburgh with his family and has since created a name for himself in the Pittsburgh art scene. His work has been exhibited at the Westmoreland Museum of Art, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Arts Festival, The Mattress Factory Museum of Contemporary Art, and 2011 Pittsburgh Biennial at the Carnegie Museum of Art.
