An original acrylic painting on stretched canvas by Cincinnati artist Gayle Hummel. The painting expressively depicts a woman in a red dress wearing a yellow hat (Gayle’s signature), while enjoying the beach. The painting is done in bright, happy hues with the textured surface being the result of the artist’s skillful use of the palette knife. There are purple waves and the white masts of sailing boats seen in the background. Gayle Hummel is a native of Terrace Park in Cincinnati, Ohio who studied fine art at both Miami University and The University of Cincinnati. Her work is to be found in many galleries and private collections worldwide. Her work was also chosen by the Late Princess Diana to be hung in a Children’s hospital in England. This painting is signed by the artist in the lower right and presented in a linen filet with a gold frame.
