Robert Bridgehouse was best known for his depictions of vast European wildernesses, often harmoniously incorporating human figures into the landscapes. His work is collected privately throughout the globe.

- restoration work includes canvas wax relining, fill and overpainting throughout, cleaning and re-varnishing, and consolidation of paints; craquelure throughout; yellowing to varnish layer; canvas is slightly smaller than frame sight edge; edge wear with paint loss to canvas; edge wear and finish loss throughout frame; cracks to frame molding.
