Kenneth Hayes Miller was an American painter, printmaker, and teacher from Oneida, New York. He studied at the New York School of Art with William Merritt Chase and at the Art Students League, where he then taught from 1911 until 1951. His students included a number of well-known artists, including Albert Pels, Yasuo Kuniyoshi, Isabel Bishop, George Bellows, and Peggy Bacon, among many others. His work is included in numerous private and public collections, including at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Wadsworth Atheneum, the Smithsonian, and more.

Condition

- yellowing to painting varnish; craquelure throughout; paint cleavage with flaked loss near upper left and along upper edge, with other frame rub and sight edge wear to painting throughout; edge wear to frame with finish loss; restoration work includes canvas relining and overpainting throguhout including to craquelure.
