Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee and King George V Coronation Silver Medallions. These commemorative medallions are .999 fine silver and the Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee medallion features the veiled bust of the ‘old head’ Queen Victoria with the inscription, ‘VICTORIA ANNVM REGNI SEXAGESIMVM FELICITER CLAVDIT XX IVN MDCCCXCVII’ to the obverse and a depiction of the famous ‘young head’ portrait of Queen Victoria with the date of her accession to the throne, 1837 to the reverse. To either side of the portrait is the inscription, ‘LONGITVDO DIERVM IN DEXTERA EIVS ET IN SINISTRA GLORIA.’ The Coronation of King George V medal features a left facing King George with crown, royal finery and orb and the inscription, ‘George V Crowned, June 22, 1911’ to the obverse and a left facing Queen Mary in crown and jewels to the reverse with the inscription, ’Queen Mary June 22, 1911. The medallions date to 1897 and 1911 respectively. Metal Content: 99.9% silver. Diameter: 55mm (Queen Victoria), 50mm (George V). Weight: 83.4 grams (Queen Victoria), 84 grams (George V).
