19th Century Military Portrait, Oil Painting on Board
Item Details
A 19th century military portrait of a debonair gentleman with mustache and ‘mutton chop’ sideburns. The work is an original oil painting on board, unsigned and framed in a deep and very ornate gesso on wood frame with hand-painted red and gold finish. The back of the board has a wonderful label that reads ‘Jabez Barnard, Manufacturer of Superfine Oil & Water Colors, Preparer of Canvas Panels, Mill Boards, and every other for painting and drawing. 339 Oxford Street, opposite John Street, London.’

Good overall, some minor wear and marks to painting
