Original Van Hoople Oil on Canvas Painting
Item Details
An original oil on canvas painting by well listed artist Van Hoople (b.1934). Hoople attended the University of Texas and studied fine arts, after which he attended the Art Center in Los Angeles. He apprenticed for Cecil B. DeMill’s scenic art director, Mr. P.T. Blackburn, at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, CA. His paintings are characterized by a deep, almost high relief, impasto, as if the paint were cut with a gouge. They are markedly mid century, gelling well with interiors decorated with furnishings and fixtures of the time. The painting is signed to the lower lefthand corner and is presented in a modest, but attractive wooden frame.
Condition
Minor wear consistent with age.
