Hugh’s work consists of the drawing, some of the type, such as his signature and the caption are printed and then pasted on the board, this process was typical with newspaper art. Hugh Haynie was employed as a political cartoonist for the Louisville Courier-Journal; he began his career in 1958, he retired in 1996. He passed away in 1999 at the age of 72.
