Additional Information | This volume titled The John Young Collection of Original Pamphlets by Thomas Paine 1792 – 1979 was fashioned from pamphets collected by Young, trimmed to size and leather bound in this volume. John Young (1764 – 1825), a surveyor and the founder of Youngstown, Ohio, purchased a large tract of land from the Western Reserve Land Company which became known as the city of Youngstown. It was officially recorded as a city on August 19, 1802. Young’s ownership signature and initials are present throughout the text. This volume is housed in a clamshell box. |
